2015 Hyundai Elantra launched in India.
The Hyundai Elantra was first launched in 2004 and it was Hyundai’s first car to cross the 10 million sales mark in the global auto industry. Hyundai has now launched the 2015 Elantra. The new car aims to set higher standards in the premium sedan segment. Prices start from 14.13 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base petrol and goes upto 17.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the fully loaded, automatic transmission diesel vehicle.
The design of the car is based on the latest iteration of Hyundai’s fluidic design, called the “Fluidic Sculpture”. Some of the key exterior features include projector headlamps with LED Guide Light, chrome insert grille, chrome window belt-line and door handles, chrome tip exhausts and electrically adjustable and retractable outside rear view mirrors. The also car gets sporty black interiors with leather seats and aluminium pedals. The multimedia system comes with a touchscreen 4.3-inch colour TFT LCD display for entertainment, information and communication.
You get two engine options for the car. The first is a 1.8 litre petrol which produces a maximum power of 149.5 PS at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.1 kgm at 4,700 rpm. The second is a 1.6 litre diesel producing a maximum power of 128 PS at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 26.5 kgm between 1,900 to 2,750 rpm. The ARAI certified mileage for the diesel with a manual gearbox is 22.7 kmpl. For the automatic, the figures stand at 19.11 kmpl. The respective mileage figures for the petrol models are 16.3 kmpl and 14.34 kmpl. The car runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.
The equipment list includes auto headlamps, electric heated outside rear view mirrors, auto cruise control, 10 way power seats with lumber support and rear AC vents. On the safety front, the new Hyundai Elantra gets six airbags, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, hill assist control, front and rear disc brakes and rear parking sensors and camera.
