We all know that BMW and TVS are jointly developing, a 300cc motorcycle to go on sale in Europe and in Asian markets. Recent developments have given us hints that this motorcycle codenamed BMW-TVS K03 is nearing its Europe and Indian launch. The BMW TVS K03 is a sub 500cc class, 300cc motorcycle which will go against KTM’s Duke 390 and Kawasaki’s Z300. This will be the first bike to roll out from BMW-TVS joint venture, as this motorcycle will be TVS answer to Bajaj who brought in the KTM from Austria.
The BMW TVS K03 motorcycle will be a naked street bike, similar to the KTM Duke. Reports surrounding the BMW TVS K03 suggest, that the manufacturer will use the same chassis as a platform for future models. Moving on, the BMW TVS K03 will use a back-to-front cylinder with the exhaust exiting from the rear, a design used by Yamaha on its YZ450F.
Exterior features a single head light unit, front disc brakes and upside down forks. Alloy wheels get the premium Michelin tyres on them.
Patent drawings have emerged from India, as what looks like a possibility to the alloy wheel design as seen on the prototypes testing in Germany. The patent drawings which belong to Indian motorcycle manufacturer TVS, says it all.
With most manufacturers applying patents after their prototypes have been displayed, TVS has gone a step forward to get them done now. This is apparent as, Indian market is hugely competitive and it’s better to get things now than later. With everyday inching forward for the launch, BMW TVS have uplifted expectations from both BMW and TVS riders and fans.
